How can I get a Director ID?

The simplest way to obtain a director ID is online on the ABRS website. The online application involves using the MyGovID phone app to verify your identity. If you are unable to use myGovID or are a foreign resident you will need to apply either via paper form or phone. 

When you submit your application online you are issued your director ID instantly. You will need at least Standard identity strength on your MyGovID to apply for your director ID with the ABRS. You will also need to supply information about your tax identity in your application, this includes your TFN and two additional documents such as bank account information and an ATO notice of assessment. Once you have this information the application can be lodged online in 5 minutes.
