Can I change my business name?

In short, no you can’t.

ASIC does not allow you to change a registered business name. Due to this, you must make sure that you correctly spell your business name and use the appropriate grammar.

Should you wish to trade under a different business name then you must submit a fresh application to register a new business name. You can apply to cancel the existing business name. ASIC will not refund fees for a cancelled business name.

It is however possible to update business name details such as your business address. Any updates can be made through your ASIC connect account which can be created using the ASIC key issued to you upon initial registration of the business name.
